No matter the size or the purpose of the organization it enables people to produce products and services that would be beyond the capabilities of a single individual. Demand management is critical in an organization because successful management of capital, information, material, and people make it possible for an organization to meet its goals. Demand management concepts are applied in both manufacturing and the provision of services. The benefit of applying the concepts are reduced costs, increased value to customers, and improved quality, all of which provides a competitive edge for organizations to meet their operational strategy.
