For a reading assignment, each student will be required to make a formal response. Some of the readings will be more poetical and some will be more like prose. Some are direct translations and some will be more like a summary of the myth. Keep in mind that some reading assignments might include several different myths, but will be counted as a single reading assignment. You might focus on how they work as a group, or partial group, or a common thread, or even just one individually if you find it particularly interesting.The readings from this book are essays that can help with understanding the other readings for that week and add to your overall learning about mythology. This response should be 250 words though it can be longer, and should utilize elements of good writing, including, but not limited to: a focus, evidence, analysis, clear organization, and good grammar and mechanics. Make sure to submit this file as a MS Word document as other formats will not be accepted. These responses must not be summaries of the readings, but instead should offer up your interpretations and ideas about the text. Include textual evidence to explain your ideas.
